From what I have read about, the though rumor has it that Apple isn’t planning on increasing the screen size simply because they do not want to force devs to support yet another resolution, and a lower DPI would mean they could no longer market it as a retina display. I really like the idea of the home button doubling up as a gesture area and though we like the design of iPhone 4, will love to see a completely redesigned iPhone 5, which is thinner and comes with a larger retina display. I’m not that familiar with the retina display, but doesn’t that just refer to the quality of it. What I might be looking at is a device with the same screen size, but smaller overall dimensions. I don’t think apple will change the screen either but with the way that screen is, with the black all the way to the edge, I think it suits the black home button. I think this summer, Apple is expected to launch its next iPhone 5, and new reports describe it as a completely redesigned handset as well as a total rethink from a design standpoint. The iPhone 5 is said to have a relatively similar size to its predecessor, and the screen size will be bigger. Also, instead of the back being a glass enclosure, it’ll be curved metal. There are no reports about what the metal back will really be made of, but it’s possible that Apple will not make the backing of material that would perpetuate the iPhone’s antenna issues.
